THREE ROSES
19:59, 29 March 2008The first stanza of this little poem came to mind as I walked up the path to my front door. I have a photo ready to post as soon as my website is mended.
THREE ROSES
There are roses under the rowan tree,
Where no roses ought to be,
Although there are only three.
In the corner under the fence
Pearly white shines so intense
Among the shadows dense.
The parent bush is yards away.
Romping adventure led them astray.
This is the final spray.
Hundreds in bloom on the parent bush.
Pinker buds and pearly blush.
These three escaped the crush.
Secret, under the rowan tree;
Light in the shadows; only three,
Where no roses ought to be!
